This Risk Disclosure explains the principal risks associated with using CarryLane, including automated crypto-portfolio management, trading strategies, digital assets, internal rewards, referral features and related platform services.
By accessing CarryLane or using the platform, the User confirms that they have read, understood and accepted the risks described below.
Contents17 sections
1. General risk warning
CarryLane provides access to automated tools designed to manage crypto portfolios and execute trading strategies through algorithmic systems.
Although CarryLane is designed to simplify automated crypto investing, any activity involving digital assets, automated strategies and crypto portfolios entails risk.
The User should not use CarryLane if they do not understand these risks or cannot bear possible financial losses.
2. Cryptocurrency market risk
Cryptocurrencies and digital assets are highly volatile. Their value may change significantly over short periods due to factors such as:
- market demand and liquidity
- global economic events
- regulatory changes
- blockchain network conditions
- exchange activity
- market sentiment
- technological problems
- unforeseen events or force majeure.
The value of crypto assets may rise or fall rapidly. The User should carefully assess their financial position before using services involving crypto portfolios managed by automated algorithms.
3. Automated portfolio risk
CarryLane does more than provide an investment in a single cryptocurrency. Instead, Users activate automated crypto-portfolio trading strategies.
Those strategies may involve different digital assets, trading logic, market signals and automated execution models.
Although strategies follow predetermined logic, automated systems cannot fully remove market uncertainty. Results may vary with volatility, liquidity, trading conditions and system behaviour.
4. Volatility-dependent profit conditions
CarryLane strategies are designed to operate when the market provides sufficient volatility.
The User's profit depends not only on the direction of cryptocurrency prices but also on market volatility and on the strategy algorithm's ability to use that volatility.
If market conditions become unsuitable or the strategy algorithm determines that profitability cannot be maintained over the short, medium or long term, the strategy may stop automatically and the invested funds may be returned to the User's balance.
5. No absolute protection against losses
CarryLane may use automated risk controls, including stopping a strategy in unsuitable market conditions and returning funds to the User's balance where applicable.
Nevertheless, no digital-asset platform, trading system or automated strategy can eliminate every risk.
Losses may arise from market events, technical failures, liquidity problems, blockchain disruptions, third-party service problems, cyber incidents, User error or force majeure.
The User should commit only funds that they are willing and able to risk.
6. Technology and system risks
CarryLane uses automated systems, software, algorithms, data processing, infrastructure providers, blockchain networks, payment systems and third-party integrations.
Risks may include:
- system downtime
- software errors
- algorithmic execution errors
- data-processing delays
- incorrect market data
- failed or delayed transactions
- blockchain congestion
- infrastructure failures
- API outages
- cybersecurity incidents.
CarryLane aims to maintain stable platform operation but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
7. Execution and liquidity risk
Automated trading and portfolio strategies may be affected by market liquidity and execution conditions.
Possible risks include:
- order-execution delays
- slippage
- insufficient market depth
- sharp price movements
- exchange restrictions
- network congestion
- failed or partially executed transactions.
These factors may affect strategy results, the generation of profit and transaction timing.
8. Blockchain transaction risk
Cryptocurrency and blockchain transactions may be irreversible.
The User is responsible for ensuring that:
- wallet addresses are correct
- selected networks are supported
- deposit and withdrawal details are accurate
- they understand the applicable network conditions.
CarryLane is not responsible for losses caused by incorrect wallet addresses, unsupported networks, blockchain failures, network delays or User error.
9. Withdrawal and processing risk
CarryLane may process withdrawals quickly when all platform, security and account conditions are met. A newly added withdrawal address is subject to a 24-hour security hold for each currency before its first use.
In some cases, however, a withdrawal may be delayed or restricted, including due to:
- blockchain congestion
- technical problems
- suspicious activity
- account security checks
- incorrect withdrawal details
- compliance review or risk assessment
- force majeure.
CarryLane may use security measures to protect Users and the platform from unauthorised or suspicious activity.
10. Account security risk
The User is responsible for protecting their credentials and enabling available security features where applicable.
Account-related risks may include:
- weak passwords
- loss of email access
- phishing attacks
- compromised devices
- unauthorised access
- failure to enable security tools
- loss of a recovery phrase or account-recovery details.
CarryLane may provide security features such as two-factor authentication, a payment PIN, a withdrawal-address whitelist, device monitoring, activity tracking and additional verification. Nevertheless, responsibility for maintaining account security remains with the User.
11. Referral programme risk
CarryLane may offer referral rewards, rank bonuses and partner incentives.
Referral income may depend on:
- network activity
- activated strategies
- partner turnover
- rank status
- referral level
- programme rules
- platform terms.
Referral rewards are not guaranteed income. They may be changed, adjusted or cancelled in cases of fraud, abuse, artificial activity, self-referrals, misleading promotion or breach of platform rules.
The User must not present referral income as guaranteed, risk-free or automatically available to all participants.
