AML/KYC Policy

This AML/KYC Policy explains CarryLane's approach to anti-money laundering (“AML”), counter-terrorist financing (“CTF”), fraud prevention, account security and voluntary identity-verification procedures.

By accessing CarryLane or using the platform, the User confirms that they have read and understood this Policy and agree to it.

Contents16 sections

1. Purpose of this Policy

CarryLane seeks to maintain a secure, transparent and responsible platform environment.

This Policy is intended to help prevent:

  • money laundering
  • terrorist financing
  • fraud
  • misuse of personal data
  • unauthorised account access
  • suspicious transactions
  • abuse of platform rewards or the referral system
  • misuse of cryptocurrency-related services.

CarryLane may apply security, AML control and account-verification procedures to protect Users, platform integrity and operational stability.

2. Nature of KYC verification

KYC verification is not a mandatory step for every CarryLane User by default.

Verification may serve as an additional means of account protection and recovery if the User loses access to account information, authentication methods, email or other recovery credentials.

Where available, the User may also protect account recovery with a 12-word recovery phrase. As an alternative security method, individual words from that phrase may be requested in random order.

Nevertheless, CarryLane reserves the right to request verification in particular situations where needed for security, compliance, fraud prevention, risk management or platform integrity.

3. When verification may be requested

CarryLane may request KYC verification or additional information, including but not limited to cases involving:

  • suspicious account activity
  • unusual login behaviour
  • account recovery
  • loss of authentication credentials
  • withdrawal security checks
  • suspected fraud or abuse
  • suspected use of multiple accounts
  • abuse of the referral programme
  • manipulation of the rewards system
  • inconsistent account information
  • large transactions
  • activity requiring further risk assessment
  • compliance with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.

Failure to complete requested verification may result in temporary or permanent restrictions on certain account features.

4. Information that may be requested

Depending on the circumstances, CarryLane may request one or more of the following:

  • full name
  • date of birth
  • country of residence
  • contact information
  • government-issued identity document
  • selfie or liveness check
  • proof of address
  • source-of-funds information
  • proof of wallet ownership
  • transaction details
  • additional documentation reasonably necessary for the review.

CarryLane requests only information considered necessary for account protection, verification, AML checks, fraud prevention or compliance-related purposes.

5. Verification during account recovery

KYC verification may be used as a recovery method if the User has completely lost access to their account.

For example, verification may help establish account ownership if the User has lost access to:

  • their email address
  • their password
  • two-factor authentication
  • their payment password
  • their device
  • wallet-verification methods
  • their recovery phrase.

Alternatively, where this feature is enabled, the User may recover access with a 12-word recovery phrase by entering the requested words in random order.

The User is responsible for keeping their recovery phrase secure. CarryLane cannot restore a phrase that has been lost, disclosed or compromised.

6. AML monitoring and risk assessment

CarryLane may monitor activity on the platform to identify suspicious or unusual patterns.

This may include reviewing:

  • deposits
  • withdrawals
  • wallet addresses
  • transaction frequency
  • login locations
  • device fingerprints
  • referral activity
  • account behaviour
  • unusual turnover patterns
  • repeated failed access attempts
  • suspicious withdrawal destination addresses.

Monitoring may be automated, manual or a combination of both.

CarryLane may delay or restrict transactions, or review them, if activity appears unusual or inconsistent with normal use of the platform.

7. Prohibited activities

The User must not use CarryLane for:

  • money laundering
  • terrorist financing
  • fraud
  • sanctions evasion
  • identity theft
  • use of stolen funds
  • unauthorised account access
  • self-referral abuse
  • multiple-account abuse
  • artificial turnover
  • manipulation of bonuses or rewards
  • attempts to evade security controls
  • unlawful or otherwise prohibited purposes.

CarryLane may suspend or terminate accounts involved in prohibited activity and cancel rewards, referral bonuses or other benefits connected with that activity.

8. Sanctions and restricted jurisdictions

CarryLane may restrict access for Users who are located in, reside in or act on behalf of jurisdictions subject to sanctions, restrictions or legal prohibitions.

CarryLane may also restrict access for Users who:

  • appear on sanctions lists
  • are associated with prohibited persons
  • are subject to legal restrictions
  • are involved in suspicious or unlawful activity.

Access restrictions may be imposed at registration, during platform use or after a risk assessment.

9. Source-of-funds checks

In certain cases, CarryLane may request information about the source of funds used on the platform.

This may happen if transaction activity is unusual, involves large amounts, is inconsistent with account behaviour or requires an additional AML review.

The User may be asked for information or documents demonstrating the lawful origin of the funds.

Failure to provide sufficient information may lead to delayed withdrawals, account restrictions or account termination.

10. Transaction delays and restrictions

CarryLane may delay, reject, restrict or freeze transactions where required for security, AML controls, fraud prevention or compliance review.

This may include situations involving:

  • suspicious deposits
  • suspicious withdrawals
  • unusual account activity
  • indications that an account has been compromised
  • incomplete verification
  • inconsistent information
  • suspicious wallet addresses
  • high-risk transactions
  • prohibited jurisdictions
  • requests from law-enforcement or regulatory authorities.

These measures are intended to protect Users, prevent abuse and maintain platform integrity.

11. Monitoring abuse of the referral and rewards programmes

CarryLane may review referral and rewards activity to prevent abuse.

Prohibited conduct relating to referrals or rewards includes:

  • creating multiple accounts to obtain rewards
  • self-referrals
  • fake or inactive accounts
  • artificial investment volume
  • coordinated bonus abuse
  • misleading promotion of referral earnings
  • attempts to exploit rank or turnover rules.

CarryLane reserves the right to adjust, cancel, withhold or revoke referral rewards, rank bonuses or other incentives if abuse is identified.

12. Data protection and privacy

CarryLane treats verification and AML-related information as confidential and uses it only for lawful purposes connected with platform operations, security, compliance and account protection.

Personal information may be processed in accordance with CarryLane's Privacy Policy.

CarryLane may share information with identity-verification providers, compliance service providers, payment processors, legal advisers, regulators or law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted by law.

13. User responsibilities

The User is responsible for:

  • providing accurate information
  • keeping account credentials secure
  • using only lawful funds
  • storing recovery phrases securely
  • enabling available security measures
  • avoiding suspicious or prohibited activity
  • complying with applicable law in their jurisdiction.

The User must notify CarryLane without delay if they suspect unauthorised account access, compromised credentials or suspicious account activity.

14. Refusal or failure to complete verification

If the User refuses or fails to complete requested verification, or does not provide required information, CarryLane may:

  • restrict account access
  • suspend particular features
  • delay withdrawals
  • restrict deposits
  • freeze account activity
  • cancel rewards or bonuses
  • terminate the account
  • take any other action necessary to protect the platform.

Such measures may remain in place until the review is completed or the issue is resolved.

15. Changes to this Policy

CarryLane may update this AML/KYC Policy from time to time to reflect changes to platform operations, security procedures, legal requirements, compliance standards or risk-management practices.

The updated version will be posted on the platform with a new “Last updated” date.

Continued use of CarryLane after an update means that the User accepts the revised Policy.
